The statutory national body responsible for approving postgraduate and graduate programmes in technology and management. AICTE approval is mandatory for all engineering, MBA and pharmacy institutions in India — it sets curriculum standards, faculty norms and infrastructure benchmarks.

Established by UGC in 1994, NAAC assesses and accredits higher education institutions against a rigorous framework covering academic quality, infrastructure, research, teaching & learning, and governance. Only NAAC-accredited institutions are eligible for UGC grants.

NBA accredits specific programmes (not institutions) at the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels across engineering, management, pharmacy and computer applications. NBA accreditation signals that a programme meets the highest outcome-based education standards set by AICTE.

The UGC coordinates and maintains standards across Indian higher education, providing grants and determining the eligibility of universities to award degrees. UGC recognition confirms that a university's qualifications are valid for government service, higher study, and professional entry across India.

AIU evaluates the equivalence of degrees earned abroad against Indian university standards, and vice versa. Membership confirms that JIS Group's degrees are internationally comparable — a crucial credential for students pursuing further education or employment outside India.

UNAI aligns higher education institutions with UN goals — human rights, access to education, sustainability and conflict resolution. JIS Group's UNAI membership reflects its commitment to producing graduates who are globally aware and socially responsible citizens.

Formerly WBUT, MAKAUT is West Bengal's premier state technical university. It affiliates engineering, management and professional institutes across West Bengal and awards degrees for all JIS Group undergraduate and postgraduate technical programmes. MAKAUT sets the syllabi, conduct examinations and awards degrees.

WBSCTVESD administers and examines vocational and polytechnic diploma courses in West Bengal. All Diploma in Engineering programmes at JIS Polytechnic are affiliated to WBSCTVESD. Diploma holders are eligible for B.Tech Lateral Entry, making WBSCTVESD a critical stepping stone in the JIS education pathway.

PCI is the statutory body established under the Pharmacy Act 1948. It regulates and maintains minimum educational standards for the training of pharmacists. PCI approval is mandatory for all B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Pharm.D programmes in India. GNIPST holds NIRF ranking alongside PCI approval.

The Bar Council of India is the statutory regulatory body for legal education and the legal profession in India. BCI recognition of a law school is essential for its graduates to enrol as advocates and practice law in Indian courts. JIS Group's law school holds full BCI approval for its BA LLB and LLM programmes.

DCI is the statutory body under the Dentists Act 1948, responsible for regulating dental education and the profession throughout India. DCI recognition ensures that BDS and MDS graduates from GNIDSR — West Bengal's oldest private dental college — are eligible for dental practice registration nationwide.

The NMC (successor to the Medical Council of India) regulates medical education and sets standards for MBBS and postgraduate medical programmes in India. NMC recognition of LBKMCH ensures that graduates can register with the state and national medical councils and practice medicine across India.

Set up by the Government of India in 1982, NCHMCT coordinates the growth of hospitality education across India. NCHMCT affiliation prescribes curriculum standards, faculty norms and infrastructure requirements for hotel management institutes — and its affiliated programmes carry national and international industry recognition.

NCTE ensures coordinated development of teacher education across India, regulating norms and standards for B.Ed and M.Ed programmes. Only NCTE-recognised institutions can award teaching qualifications valid for recruitment in government and private schools. JIS University's School of Education holds full NCTE recognition.

Established in 2003, WBUHS affiliates medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy and allied health institutions in West Bengal. WBUHS affiliation ensures that health science degrees awarded by JIS Group institutions are recognised throughout the state and by national health councils.
