1999

Asansol Engineering College — the beginning

Sardar Jodh Singh establishes the first JIS Group institution, laying the foundation for Eastern India's largest education group.

2001

JIS College of Engineering founded

The flagship engineering institution is established, later going on to achieve NIRF ranking and NBA accreditation.

2010s

Rapid expansion — Pharmacy, Dental, Law & Management

JIS Group diversifies into multi-disciplinary education, adding GNIPST, GNIDSR, management and law schools across West Bengal.

2014

JIS University established

JIS University is granted University status, expanding the group's academic reach with undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
