STRATEGIC TIE-UPS

Acknowledging our efforts both industry and government agencies have made strategic tie-ups with our educational institutions. Partnerships with government and industry enhance each of our Institute's research, education, and outreach mission. Such partnerships enable the Institute to investigate new transportation trends and technologies, and to launch new initiatives. Partners provide valuable funding, access to internships, and enhanced educational opportunities through visiting lecturers, workshops and special courses. Going hand in hand with government and the industry gives us the extra edge of policy standpoints and industry trends.
WIPRO, INFOSYS join hands with JIS Group Educational Initiatives:
JIS Group Educational Initiatives has signed a MOU with WIPRO; one of the largest information technology solution organization of India; for strategic relationship to develop specialised infrastructure at all our campuses. WIPRO would guide JIS Group Educational Initiatives for development of its LABs, conduct faculty development programmes and organise seminars and work shops to guide students to pickup several industry specific skills.

Another prestigious partnership with Infosys started from 2006, when Infosys chose one of our Group Institutes - Narula Institute of Technology, for its Campus Connect Programme. Presently all our technical institutes are in Campus Connect Programme. This programme is an important window for academic institutions to get a thorough understanding of industry requirements in the Information Technology sector. There is round the year interaction with Infosys to build skill sets among the students.
JIS College of Engineering is the First Private Engineering College in West Bengal having Strategic set-up with IBM.

Also, we have IBM Web Sphere Competency Center at JIS College of Engineering, which provides training on DB2, Web Sphere Application Server, Web Sphere Studio with hands on training by IBM certified professionals.
JIS Group -IIT Kharagpur had signed MOU for academic tie-up.
The Group has also signed a MOU with Science & Technology Entrepreneurs' Park (STEP) -IIT Kharagpur. The agreement encompasses sharing of workspace, equipments, library, computer and technical guidance & consultancy of faculty members of IIT. Discussion are at the advanced stage for jointly organizing short term/ long term and focused course (2-10 days) guided by several faculties from IIT, and other renowned institutions. Seminars and workshops would be held for students and faculty of the eastern region. Joint publications and TV programmes through e-learning mode would be developed for students. This tie-up will not only help students of Colleges of JIS Group, but also the students of Eastern India.
GNIT gets Government grant
Ministry of Food Processing, Govt. of India, is in process of sanctioning a grant to develop infrastructure for several food processing labs of Food Technology Department at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. 25 lacs had already been received as a first installment.
JIS Group tied up with NEN
JIS Group tied up with NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network) for Students Entrepreneurship Development Programme. This will entail regular workshops and information support for students who want to develop themselves as entrepreneurs.
NIT tied up with MSME (Govt. of India)
Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute (formerly SISI), Kolkata, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and Narula Institute of Technology have expressed their desire to associate and signed a MOU for conducting tailor-made course on "Business Skill development Programme (BSDP)" for Pre-final and final year Engineering students of NIT for establishment, development and promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises jointly.
Speciality Restaurants Pvt Ltd. Ties up with Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management
M/S. Speciality Restaurants Pvt Ltd. (SRPL), the holding company behind premium eatery brands like "Mainland China", "Haka", "Oh Calcutta..!!", "Sigree", "Just Biryani", "Mostly Kababs", "Sweet Bengal" etc. have entered into an arrangement with Kolkata based Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management for training of their staff. The institute will act as their Corporate Training Hub. A residential training program has been designed to suit the training needs of the staff of SRPL. The trainees will arrive in batches of approximately 25 and get trained over a period of one month.
ICICI Learning Matrix Centre
We have elaborate establishments in partnership with the industry. Centre for Management Studies-JISCE is the only institute in West Bengal where ICICI Bank has started its dedicated Learning Matrix Centre. This gives the students a first hand rigorous experience to dabble with modern financial packages and banking systems. The centre offers training both for ICICI Bank employees and our students by our own faculty. The faculty has been trained directly by ICICI for such programmes.
Approval from Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India
Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management have received the approval for conducting short courses in Cookery, Food & Beverage Services, Chamber Maid and Chamber Boys funded by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India through National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
NIT received grant from Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS)
Grant received on effect of laser Plasma on Doubly exited states of two Electron Systems and its application in Plasma Diagnostics from board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Government of India.
