WIPRO, INFOSYS join hands with JIS Group Educational Initiatives:
JIS Group Educational Initiatives has signed a MOU with WIPRO; one of the largest information technology solution organization of India; for strategic relationship to develop specialised infrastructure at all our campuses. WIPRO would guide JIS Group Educational Initiatives for development of its LABs, conduct faculty development programmes and organise seminars and workshops to guide students to pickup several industry specific skills.
Another prestigious partnership with Infosys started from 2006, when Infosys chose one of our Group Institutes - Narula Institute of Technology, for its Campus Connect Programme. Presently all our technical institutes are in Campus Connect Programme. This programme is an important window for academic institutions to get a thorough understanding of industry requirements in the Information Technology sector. There is round the year interaction with Infosys to build skill sets among the students.

JIS Group -IIT Kharagpur had signed MOU for academic tie-up.
The Group has also signed a MOU with Science & Technology Entrepreneurs' Park (STEP) -IIT Kharagpur. The agreement encompasses sharing of workspace, equipments, library, computer and technical guidance & consultancy of faculty members of IIT. Discussion are at the advanced stage for jointly organizing short term/ long term and focused course (2-10 days) guided by several faculties from IIT, and other renowned institutions. Seminars and workshops would be held for students and faculty of the eastern region. Joint publications and TV programmes through e-learning mode would be developed for students. This tie-up will not only help students of Colleges of JIS Group, but also the students of Eastern India.
Speciality Restaurants Pvt Ltd. ties up with Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management
M/S. Speciality Restaurants Pvt Ltd. (SRPL), the holding company behind premium eatery brands like Mainland China, Haka, Oh! Calcutta, Sigree, Just Biryani, Mostly Kababs, Sweet Bengal and many others have entered into an arrangement with Kolkata based Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management for training of their staff. The Institute will act as their Corporate Training Hub. A residential training programme has been designed to suit the training needs of the staff of SRPL. The trainees will arrive in batches of approximately 25 and be trained over a month.
JNIT ties up with MSME (Govt. of India)
JMicro, Small and Medium Enterprises development Institute (formerly SISI), Kolkata, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and Narula Institute of Technology have expressed their desire to associate and have signed a MOU for conducting tailor-made courses on "Business Skill Development Programme (BSDP)" for the pre-final and final year engineering students of NIT for establishment, development and promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises jointly.
ICICI Learning Matrix Centre
Centre for Management Studies-JISCE is the only Institute in West Bengal where ICICI Bank has started a dedicated Learning Matrix Centre. This gives the students a first hand experience in dabbling with modern financial packages and banking systems. The Centre offers training both for ICICI bank employees and our students by our own faculty. The faculty have been trained directly by ICICI for such programmes.
JIS Group ties up with NEN
JIS Group has now tied up with NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network) for Students Entrepreneurship Development Programme. This will entail regular workshops and information support for students who want to develop themselves as entrepreneurs.
Approval from Ministry of Tourism, Government of India
Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management have received the approval for conducting short courses in Cookery, Food and Beverage Services, Chamber Maid and Chamber Boys funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India through National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology
The Institute is currently in the process of signing a MOU for exchange of faculty, students and research collaboration with Universities in India and abroad.

JIS Group Educational Initiatives illustrious alliance with The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry creates an interface for extensive networking, resource and information exchange. The Chamber today has over 300 members from industry, trade and commerce and is giving significant emphasis in the areas of Business Growth, Investment, Healthcare, Education, Energy and Environment, HR, Information Technology, Finance and Banking, Corporate Governance, MSME Development, Manufacturing, Shipping, Infrastructure, and Tourism and Skill Development to name a few selected sectors. The Chamber is working with leading overseas partners, institutions and foreign trade promotion organizations in catalyzing investments and B2B contacts including technology transfer. Therefore this association reinforces our outreach mission and enables the Institutions to explore new business trends, technologies and initiatives thereby enriching futuristic enhancement of educational opportunities for the Group.
GNIT gets Government grant
Ministry of Food Processing, Government of India, is in the process of sanctioning a grant to develop infrastructure for several food processing labs in the Food Technology department at the Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. 25 lakhs has already been received as a first installment.
JIS College of Engineering ties up with Texas Instruments, India
Department of Biomedical Engineering of JIS College of Engineering has taken a step forward with four of its final year B.Tech projects (Robotic Control of Microsurgery, Localized sensory Robotic Finger, Intelligent Holter Monitor, and Pocket Pacemaker) being selected in Texas India Analog Design Contest 2011 and all of them have been fully financed by Texas Instruments. Texas Instruments (TI) is a global analog and digital semiconductor IC design and manufacturing company. In addition to analog technologies, digital signal
processing (DSP) and microcontroller (MCU) semiconductors, Texas India designs and manufactures semiconductor solutions for analog and digital embedded and application processing. Texas Instruments India Pvt. Ltd has signed a MOU with JIS College of Engineering for the development of a state of the art Texas Instruments Analog Design laboratory in the department of Biomedical Engineering at JISCE, along with a series of workshops and seminars to be conducted by Texas Instruments in the college campus to enrich the students with the present day industrial revolutionary technical upgradation. Pre final year students of the same department have also started at the initial phase of the Texas Instruments Analog Design Contest 2012, recieving great enthusiasm from their seniors. Texas Instruments is more keenly showing interest to grow the relationship with JIS College of Engineering in the near future.
Volkswagen Group Regional Training Academy
In the Automotive Industry, Volkswagen is the third largest in the world. It has 2 Automobile hubs in India located at Pune and Aurangabad. Our Colleges have recently signed a MOU with Volkswagen for setting up a fully-fledged training cum service centre in the college campus which will further enhance the quality of Automobile Engineers graduating from our college.
The company is planning to have the following training hubs in our college :
1. RTC (Regional Training Centre) - This Centre would specialize in dealer training. The first RTC in India is established in Chandigarh and the second would be in Eastern India, at Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree Engineering College, Dum Dum, Kolkata. It will be covered over an area of 6000 sq. ft. with workshops, classrooms and other office areas.
2. VG-TAP (Volkswagen Group- Technical Apprenticeship Programme) This program would include the regular practical training of the mechanical and automobile students from ITI and diploma backgrounds. It will be covered over an area of 2000 sq. ft. with workshops, classrooms and other office areas. Apart from this our Colleges are also making arrangements for students to undergo vocational training in some of the reputed automobile manufacturing plants, dealer workshops and dealer service centres such as Ashoke Leyland Chennai, Bosch FIP Regional Training Centre Kolkata, Indian Railways Diesel Locomotive Workshop Varanasi, Jessop & Co. Ltd, Mukesh Hyundai Service Centre and Auto Care Maruti Authorized Service Centre.
