In order to foster a healthy collaboration between the academia and industry and increase our depth of relationship with the leaders in the Industry we have formed JIS Group Industry Initiatives - a professional focus group that is recognized for its research initiatives and pioneering links with business and industry.  We see a strong synergy between applied research and enterprise, enabling seamless knowledge transfer between academia and business, industry and the community.

Silico Design of Novel Molecular Rectifier and Spin Filter through Non-equilibrium Green’s Function technique, a project submitted by Department of Physics has been sanctioned 4.20 lakhs by the Department of Science and Technology - JIS College of Engineering.

Ecotourism and Environmental Sustainability: A study on West Bengal, this research project has been submitted by the department of Management and received a grant of ` 4.89 lakhs by the Indian Council of Social Science and Research Centre for Management Studies - JIS College of Engineering

Development of Three Dimensional Shape Sensing under PRS from Electronics and Communication Engineering department of JIS College of Engineering has received a grant of ` 3.75 lakhs under AICTE research scheme.

The Physics department of Narula Institute of Technology has been approved for a sanction of ` 9 lakhs from Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

Development of Machine Intelligence under MODROB from Computer Science Engineering department of JIS College of Engineering has received a grant of ` 11 Lakhs under the AICTE research scheme

Modernization of Power Sytems lab under MODROB from Electrical Engineering department of JIS College of Engineering has received a grant of ` 8.45 lakhs under the AICTE research scheme.

A Cognitive System With Synergism of Mobile Technology based on Cardiac measure and Brain Signal decoding with embedded nanosensor, a research project submitted to UGC by JIS College of Engineering has been sanctioned a grant of ` 60 lakhs.

Implementation of EDC Project under EDC, Plant Grant and AICTE research scheme by JIS College of Engineering, has been sanctioned a grant of ` 6.92 lakhs

Implementation of IIPC Plant Grant of ` 8 lakhs under AICTE research scheme - JIS College of Engineering.

• Development of Compact Broadband and Efficient Patch Antenaes for Mobile Communication from the Electronics and Communication Engineering department of JIS College of Engineering has received a grant of ` 5 Lakhs under the AICTE research scheme
• Synchronisation of Time Delayed System and its application to the Cryptography under the CSIR Research Scheme submitted by the Mathematics department of JIS College of Engineering has received a grant of ` 3.56 lakhs.
• Smart Compiler : A National Language Processing Approach to Compile and Execute Pseudo Code from department of Computer Science and Information Technology of JIS College of Engineering, under the Scheme for Young Scientist (SYS) programme, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, was submitted.
• VLSI Circuit Design of High Demity, High Performance DRAM chips, Circuit Design of Digital and Analog Circuits to DRAM Architecture, Timing and Logic Design, a project submitted by the ECE department of Narula Institute of Technology has been sanctioned 17 lakhs from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
• FPGA Based Embedded System for Formation of Human Face from Distorted Contour or Partially Unseen Image Using Modified Hopfield Neural Network, has been submitted by the ECE department of Narula Institute of Technology, to the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for a grant of `17 lakhs.
• The Mechanism of Binding of Intercalculator to DNA : Mode of Base Pairs Instacking, a project from the department of Physics of Narula Institute of Technology has been submitted to the Department of Bio-technology, Government of India.
• NIT received a grant for the on Effect of Laser Plasma on Doubly Excited States of two Electron Systems and its application in Plasma Diagnostics, by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Government of India.
• In addition, work in two different projects related to modernisation and creation of high end Labs under the MODROB scheme of 8.65 lakhs/AICTE is going on at the ECE and CSE department of JIS College of Engineering
• Guru Nanak Institute of Technology has received a grant of ` 75 lakhs for creation of high end infrastructure for their Food Technology department from Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Food and Food Processing Industry, Government of India. DST is in the process of approving ` 18 lakhs for a Bio-Sensors project from the Food Technology department of GNIT
• Narula Institute of Technology has got a sanction for a project on Automatic Solar Tracking Process. The project has been sanctioned by the Department of New & Renewable Resource, Government of India through IIM Ahmedabad (the nodal agency).
• Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Narula Institute of Technology, has got a sanction of ` 14.60 lakhs for a project on Modernization of VLSI and Signal Processing Laboratory from All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Prof.Dr. L.K Samanta, of ABACUS Institute of Engineering and Management attended a workshop on Higher Education Opportunities for Engineering College Teachers at IIT, Kharagpur, held on 11.04.2011.

Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology is currently working on identification of newer hepatoprotective, antidiabetic and antifertility compounds from natural sources and development of pharmocologically active newer synthetic molecules.

Bound and resonance states of two electron ions under plasma: theoretical and experimental investigations, a project submitted by Narula Institute of Technology has been sanctioned 20 - 68 lakhs by the Department of Atomic Energy Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, Government of India.

Modernization of VLSI and Signal Processing Laboratory, a project submitted by Narula Institute of Technology has been sanctioned `14.60 lakhs by All India Council for Technical Education.

Modernization of Antenna Engineering and Microwave Technology a project submitted by Narula Institute of Technology has been sanctioned `15 lakhs by All India Council for Technical Education.

Hand off analysis in WLAN-GPRS integrated network, a project submitted by Narula Institute of Technology has been sanctioned ` 14.60 lakhs by All India Council for Technical Education.

MODROBS for Modernization of Departmental laboratories from Electronics and Communication Engineering department of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology has received a grant ` 9.5 Lakhs under the AICTE research scheme.
