JISCE and NIT under JIS Group Educational Initiatives have been selected to participate in World Bank assisted, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) sponsored Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), for comprehensive quality improvement of higher Technical Education in th year 2011-12.

  • Joydeep Mondal a student of Information Technology (batch 2004 – 2008) received the “Future Creation Award” at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors organized by the Japan Institute of Invention & Innovation,Tokyo, Japan. He also received the certificate of appreciation from Honorable President of India.
  • 30 students (3rd year) are going to M/S SUN Pharmaceutical & IND Chemic, Gujrat for Summer training Industrial tour organised by GNIPST.
  • 3rd year B.Sc students of GNIPST namely Surjit Singh, Arghya Chakraborty, Aditi Agarwala and Ankita Dutta has achieved top positions in the seminar conducted to promote cancer awareness on 3rd February 2012 to observe the World Cancer Day.
  • Jayeeta Mukherjee student of B.Sc Microbiology from GNIPST has acquired a silver medal as the University Topper in the year 2011.
  • FPGA Based Embedded System for Formation of Human Face from Distorted Contour or Partially Unseen Image Using Modified Hopfield Neural Network, has been submitted by the ECE department of Narula Institute of Technology, to the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for a grant of `17 lakhs.
  • Monalisha Karmakar, student of B.Sc Biotechnology from GNIPST has procured a gold medal and attained the position of University Topper in the year 2011.
  • JIS Group Educational Initiatives Colleges have 222 specialized departmental labs and the libraries contain around 220000 books.
  • Total 2122 research papers have been published nationally and internationally by our faculty members.Our faculty members have also published 153 books.

  • Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute (formerly SISI), Kolkata, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and Narula Institute of Technology have expressed their desire to associate and have signed a MOU for conducting tailor-made courses on “Business Skill Development Programme (BSDP)”.
  • Adipta Datta, a student of Aerospace Engineering from JIS Institute of Aviation has innovated a green vehicle concept “AVCAR” which can run on the road and also fly in the air. His project has been selected as a Project Champion at Mahindra Spark the Rise Contest.
  • GNIT has initiated modern teaching aids to supplement the lecturers in the undergraduate level by introducing 'Video-on-Demand' system in collaboration with STEP of IIT-KGP.
  • Government sponsored rsearch projects of 56 Lakhs at the University level are being undertaken by Dr. Abhijit Sengupta, Director cum Principal of GNIPST.
  • Ministry of food processing, Government of India, has sanctioned a grant to develop infrastructure for several food processing labs of the Food Technology department of GNIT.
  • JISCE has been declared as Centre of Excellence by IBM.
  • CSE department has developed internet working of multiple LANs using ARP.
  • Subhajit Roy (ECE), Somnath Chakraborty (ECE), Nilashis Acharya (IT) and Arindam Chakraborty (IT) were awarded third position in robotics at “Prayukti '08”.
  • Prof. S Sen, Professor and HDO of CSE have designed and developed an OS independent Remote Control and Operation of Machine in Ethernet LAN.
  • Rupsa Mukherjee (Dept. of BME) from JISCE became the WBUT topper in the year 2009

  • One of our students, Surajit Saha from GNIT scored 99.16%tile in Gate, in the year 2009.
  • Two students of the 2009 passed out batch from GNIT have joined as scientists at BARC. Sumit Das, a student of Computer Science and Engineering has scored 99.53 percentile in GATE.
  • 2nd year B.Sc students of GNIPST, Sarbarish Chakraborty, Satyapriya Rao and Saronik Bose have acquired 3rd positions in a poster competition held to foster cancer awareness on the World Cancer Day.
