CSR is about how companies manage their business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. Few major CSR initiatives taken by JIS Group are as follows:

• JIS Sumedha : This unique scholarship programme was launched to provide the meritorious yet economically underprivileged children, an opportunity to study at zero cost in any one of our colleges. The scheme offered full scholarship for full term course, provided their family income is below ` 60,000 and the candidate has secured rank below 500 in WBJEE and 5000 in AIEEE.
• Disha: which is a JIS Group Corporate Social Responsibility launched “WHAT NEXT ?”, an informative college directory, with course and contact details of all the colleges across Eastern India. It acts as a ready reckoner for students, in order to find suitable courses and institute options in Eastern India after Class - X and XII.
• Free Dental Check Up: This facility is offered by Guru Nanak College of Dental Sciences and Research, especially to school and college students and also at various social awareness camps. The Doctors at our Dental Hospital render treatment for critical dental ailments at a subsidized fee.
• Green-Is-In (an initiative towards a clean, green and safe environment): 13th September 2011, was a “green-letter-day” in the calendar of JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani where a group of twenty six students came forward and took the ownership of propagating the cause of conservation and restoration of nature. They drew posters, wrote insightful catchlines on this initiative and hung them on the walls of the college. They also planted saplings and plants, cleared the campus of plastics, and other forms of wastes so that we can set to rights and revive the ailing planet making it evergreen. This event marked the beginning of a creation of a long-term awareness for building a healthy, green and safe environment in the campus. Our objective is to recreate a green campus by the end of 2015.
